Spirals #101 Workshop

The Boise Basin Quilters' Guild
 
sign up to enjoy a FUN day with other quilters. The only fabric requirement is a fat eight (11" x 18") of a BATIK fat quarter. Students will paper piece a nested spiral block using RaNae Merrill's technique with translucent foundation vellum.
 
Date: Thursday June 26, 2014 (same day as June guild meeting)
Time: Two half day sessions (choose one)
                Morning: 9:00 am to 12:30 pm 
            or
               Afternoon: 1:30 pm to 5 pm

The Boise Basin Quilters' 2014 quilt show "Sew Twisted" will feature nationally known instructor and designer; RaNae Merrill, with her "Spiral Quilts" and piecing techniques. To acquaint you with her fun and easy methods and help you look forward to attending her classes  September 26-28, 2014 DSQ is hosting an introductory workshop June 26, 2014
 
Supply list: (more detailed list provided with sigh-up)
  • Sewing Machine
  • Fabric: fat eighth (18" x 11") of bright batik fabric -- keep in mind batik should be suitable for a baby quilt. In the class you will make one block. Blocks may be added together to make a baby quilt to donate to community quilts.
Things that will be provided by BBQ:
  • spiral pattern pre-printed on translucent vellum foundation (other types of translucent foundation options will be shown)
  • cream batik background fabric for the spiral blocks

Mystery Quilts
